“As an artist agent and promoter specializing in jazz, Hélène Fortier has produced numerous events and concerts throughout the region and beyond. Through her tenacity and sustained efforts over many years, she has greatly contributed to the region’s jazz community, working not only to preserve it but also to help it flourish.

Over the past two years, several concerts produced by Hélène Fortier have been broadcast across Canada on Radio-Canada’s Chaîne culturelle (cultural network). She also made a significant breakthrough on the international scene, with the performance in Quebec City of the Jazz Orchestra of the European Broadcasting Union, which brought together musicians from various countries. In 2000, she was named artist agent of the year by the Musicians Guild of Québec. Closely involved in the musical milieu, she represents eastern Québec on the Board of Directors of the Jazz Alliance of Canada.

Being keenly aware of the need to improve the situation of professional musicians, Hélène Fortier has worked actively not only to create new opportunities for musicians but also to maintain the diversity of musical practices in the capital city region.”
